At the end of the day, you use it once. And it's the square inches of TP that matter most, not the number of sheets or the number of rolls. Roll width and sheet length vary widely, so I keep a spreadsheet going that will standardize the comparison of TP per square inch. At some point Boardwalk and Gen started raising the rates, beyond the "high quality" Scott 1000s. Given that Boardwalk and Gen cases now cost more than Scott, and arrive quite battered and torn, I can't recommend using them until the prices fall back into sane territory of <$50 per case.
